EROROTE (Give it a thought)

EROROTE- “Give it a thought” is a celebration of reflection and intentionality rooted and drawn from the Urhobo native name, carries a gentle but powerful command that we all need to pause, reflect and consider deeply our next step before taking them. This sculpture that invitation to thoughtfulness.

We all need to hold ourselves accountable of our decisions and actions and ask ourselves this question, “HOW DID WE GET HERE AS A COUNTRY, NIGERIA?”. Where did we go wrong?, how did we get to this point where lives of others means nothing to us?. Did we even give it a thought before taking the life of our neighbor?. Before you decide to create havoc and so much destruction in the society, did you think about it?.

This sculpture stands as a reminder to my country Nigeria and we Nigerians to reflect on our actions before taking them. Before taking that harsh decision if taking lives please, “think it through”.

This piece invites us all to pause, breathe, reflect and look within before taking decisions.
